CHHA-NL Scholarships

The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association – Newfoundland and Labrador (CHHA-NL) offers three scholarships for students in Newfoundland and Labrador with hearing loss.

These scholarships are made possible through CHHA-NL’s fundraising efforts.

CHHA-NL is the only charitable organization in Newfoundland and Labrador dedicated to supporting individuals with hearing loss through education, awareness, and communication programs. Our services are designed for individuals who primarily use oral communication in their daily lives.

1. Susan Brown Memorial Entrance Scholarship
For students with hearing loss or an auditory processing disorder entering their first year of post-secondary studies.
Amount: $1,000

2. Glenna Stone Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship
For undergraduate students with hearing loss or an auditory processing disorder beyond their first year.
Amount: $1,000

3. Dr. Norah Browne Memorial Graduate Scholarship
For graduate-level students (Master’s or PhD) with hearing loss or an auditory processing disorder.
Amount: $1,000

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by September 1, 2025. Successful recipients will receive their scholarship by September 30, 2025, upon submission of proof of enrollment from their post-secondary institution.
