This guide is intended as a comprehensive and detailed account of Canadian federal, provincial, and post-secondary initiatives that can help people with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Given that NEADS represents college and university students with disabilities, the guide is primarily focused on those measures that support disabled persons in post-secondary study. We hope this initiative helps to improve full participation and access to programs and services for people with disabilities during the pandemic. We recognize that modes of learning, including online platforms and enhancement for federal and provincial aid programs, may well continue beyond the current crisis. The pandemic has forced colleges and universities, teaching staff, and service providers to do things differently, and the post-secondary experience, like other aspects of life, may never be quite the same after the pandemic as they were prior to its start. This presents both opportunities and challenges for disabled students in learning and career spaces.
