The Roy Cooper Scholarship is available to a student in Ontario with a documented learning disability who is pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering or a Bachelor of Science in a physical sciences discipline.

The Roy Cooper Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship offered by the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO). This award honours the memory of Roy V. Cooper, a long-time volunteer and advocate within both his local LDA chapter and the provincial organization.
Criteria
- Must be a full-time high school student during the 2024–2025 academic year
- Must be entering the first year of a bachelor’s program in engineering or a physical sciences discipline (please note: physical sciences do not include social sciences or technology-focused programs)
- Must be accepted into a recognized postsecondary institution for the 2025–2026 academic year
How to Apply
Chapters of the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario will recommend one candidate from their area each year to be placed in the provincial competition. Please contact your local chapter to obtain an application form. To find your local chapter, on their website.

In the form, you will need to answer a few questions. Some of these can be, but not limited to: What are your Hobbies, What do you find interesting about engineering and/or the physical sciences, Why did you apply for the Roy Cooper Scholarship Award?
