Moving Lives Forward Scholarship

The Moving Lives Forward (MLF) Scholarship is awarded to students residing in Newfoundland and Labrador, and have received adult services from a provincial Mental Health and Addictions Program. Applications are reviewed three (3) times annually, and will be awarded once per calendar year.

The Moving Lives Forward Scholarship Program is a provincial program supporting individuals from a mental health program to grow and heal through the pursuit of higher education and/or skill development opportunities.

Amount: $1,500

Deadline(s): August 01, 2026 (Fall Semester) ; November 01, 2026 (Winter Semester)

Criteria

In order to be considered eligible for the above scholarship, students must be:

  • at least seventeen (17) years of age (as in, the age of majority in Newfoundland and Labrador);
  • enrolled in an accredited post-secondary training institution;
  • have received adult services from a provincial Mental Health and Addictions Program within the past two years.

The application form is completed in two (2) parts:

  • Section A (Applicant Information Form): to be filled out by the student / applicant
  • Section B (Reference Form): to be filled out by a mental health provider or a mental health and addictions clinician who has a therapeutic relationship to the student / applicant
