Kochhar & Co. Chartered Professional Accountant was founded in 2011 by Biki Kochhar, a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant, with a small office and a single staff member. Kochhar & Co. specializes in owner-managed corporations based in the Okanagan Valley, and has offices in both downtown Kelowna and Penticton.

Criteria

To be eligible, the student must:

• Be a resident of Canada or the United States.
• Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year.
• Be attending college or university on a full-time or part-time basis no later than September 2026.
• Submit an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59 PM EST on the day of the deadline.
• Be enrolled in any field of study.

How to Apply

Write a maximum 1000 words essay, answering only ONE of the following questions:

1) “What are the three most important things that an Accountant does for a Company?”

2) “What are the three most important things that an Accountant does for an Individual?”

The essay must:

• Follow basic rules of format and grammar. Must begin with an introductory paragraph, have a middle (several supporting paragraphs that comprise the body of the paper), and an end (concluding paragraph).
• Grammar is vital for essay composition. Sentence fragments, misspellings, and improper punctuation denote a carelessly-written and poorly-conceived paper.
• No plagiarism, quotes and words from other sources must be cited using MLA or APA formatting.
