The Tom Pinder Education Scholarship is awarded to a post-secondary student who has resided in Alberta for at least one year, and is deaf or hard of hearing.

Criteria
In order to be considered eligible for the above scholarship, students must be:
- eighteen (18) years or older;
- deaf, hard of hearing, or use a cochlear implant;
- a resident of Alberta for at least one (1) year prior to the date of application;
- a student at a post-secondary / vocational institution who will use the scholarship towards the following eligible educational programs:
- specialized post-secondary programs for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals located outside of Alberta (subject to eligibility review by Deaf & Hear Alberta);
- adult education courses and other training options, such as ASL instruction certification, tuition, interpreter training or upgrading (subject to eligibility review by Deaf & Hear Alberta);
- demonstrative of financial need, as determined by a referral from a qualified agency or successful application for financial support (provided by Deaf & Hear Alberta);
